Spiritual Reflection and Artistic Expression: Exploring Psalms 1 and 42

Water flows through the Psalms, past the tree of Psalm 1, past the longing deer of Psalm 42. These will be our focus, but the waters of the Psalms flow on, through the history of Israel on to the firmament of Psalm 150. Sometimes they come in destructive torrents, sometimes still, sometimes in springs, in showers – or absent from a dry, weary land.

Bring your favorite translation and join us in reflecting upon some of these water images, expressing our responses through discussion and creating water color paintings tied to our favorite images and verses. We will meet bi-weekly for 3 weeks, May 2, 16 and 30.

Instructor: volunteer theologian Kate Brady and artist Angie Renee.

Registration:  Registration encouraged so that we have enough art supplies.
